how do we calculate the area of rectangles and triangles?

the area of a rectangle is BxH
for example-if the base was 3 and the height was 4, the area would be 12

the area for a triangle is 1/2BxH
for example- if the base was 2 and the height was 7, both the base and the height will equal to 14 . hal of 14 is 7 so thats the area.
